Most of our apprentices join us from school or college so are aged between 16 and 20 but we don’t have an age limit. We are a diverse employer and have welcomed apprentices of all ages so if you’re looking for a change of career or new challenge, you’re welcome to apply.

It all depends on the type of apprenticeship you’re applying for. For example, the entry requirement for Business Administration, differ from our bespoke Multi-Utility Apprenticeship scheme, which differ from our Finance Apprenticeship Scheme. Contact us for specific details on entry requirements.

If you’re keen to learn and get your sleeves rolled up, but don’t have exam certificates, don’t worry, you should still be able to apply. Speak to us to find out more.

This depends on the apprenticeship you choose. We offer a wide range of site and office based courses. So, whether you opt for the Power Network Craftsperson or Business Administrator course, you’ll receive a nationally recognised qualification. After completing your apprenticeship, you could progress onto a personal development plan giving you the option to undergo further training and add other qualifications that interest you.

Again, this depends on the apprenticeship you apply for but as a rule of thumb, office based courses run for 12-18 months, while most site-based apprenticeships run over two years.

We understand that it can be quite daunting starting a new job. Whether you join us on a construction site or in a big offices with dozens of new colleagues, rest assured, everyone at Aptus is extremely friendly and keen to help each other. We are certain that the skills and friendships you’ll make during your apprenticeship will transform you into a more confident person.

Most apprentices join us with no work experience whatsoever so generally start on the national minimum wage. Because we hold regular reviews, this can increase quite quickly. Apprentices who’ve gone on to more senior roles with us can earn in excess of £35k each year. Our multi-utility qualification is in high demand in the construction industry so generally leads to a higher salary.

If you’ve applied for an office-based apprenticeship, you’ll be based in one of our regional offices that’s closest to where you live. All other apprenticeships involve a combination of training in Manchester (we’ll pay for all your travel, accommodation and food) and on-site at one of our many locations across the UK. Again, we’ll ensure this is in the region you live. Aptus is growing so we’ll be opening even more bases in the future, opening up even more choice and opportunity for you.

We’ll pay for all your travel, accommodation and food when you attend our Induction Day and also when you’re attending classroom sessions.

Provided you’ve passed your apprenticeship, you’ll be offered a job with Aptus. Of course, you don’t have to take it but we’re proud to say that 98% of people who do their apprenticeship with us, choose to stay – Aptus really is a great company. You’ll need to send us your CV with a short covering letter. We offer office-based apprenticeships all year round but if you’re interested in any of our other apprentices, our application windows open in the spring for a start in September, keep your eye on our pages for updates. We’ll let you know if you’ve been successful and invite you for an interview (don’t worry, we’re a friendly bunch).
