We are pleased to share that Aptus has become a member of The 5% Club!
Organisations who sign the official charter commit to achieving 5% of their workforce in ‘earn and learn’ positions within five years. This includes apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formalised training schemes.
The 5% Club aims to increase the employment and career prospects of today’s youth and equip the UK with the skilled workforce it needs to safeguard Britain’s economy. We are proud to have won awards for our Multi Utility Apprenticeship programme; now in its seventh year our scheme is directly addressing skills shortages within the industry and has added around 25 specialist skilled personnel to our workforce since 2015.
Aptus has long since surpassed the 5% target and has already established an excellent reputation for the successful recruitment and training of apprentices across our organisation. More than 10% of our workforce have either joined us through the apprenticeship route or are currently undertaking specialist training and further learning as part of their career development.
We are pleased to join around 700 organisations who have signed the charter, and we publicly pledge to continue to invest in and drive learning, training and career opportunities for young people within the utilities and construction sector.
